I have been interested in flute since age of 14. I have started formal training in music by Voacalist Late Pt. Gajanan Thakre of Mumbai at the age of 21.
Last 10 years, I have received training/guidance from Pt Vishwanath Shrikhande, Shri Hemant Kulkarni and Sitarist Abhisek Malik.I did not have access to
a flautist as my guru.I have developed flute technique by myself, watching Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia.
Chhayatai has been instrumental in teaching me music, specifically related to Thumri, Natyageet and bhajan, which are of special interest to me.
She takes special efforts to go through melody aspects of each raga and nuances of each composition. I enjoy each and every class.
Currently I also give lessons in flute techniques to music lovers with interest in flute playing.
