Mrs. Chhaya Kulkarni's Music class via Internet has made such lessons accessible to all those who for one reason or the other haven't been able to do so...For me it was impossible to find somebody here in a small town of Michigan. So learning anything like this was just out of my reach. With Mrs. Kulkarni's novel idea, the lessons are possible while I could be at my home and home could be anywhere in the world as long as it had a computer! Since end of May 2007, when I found out about her venture, I have learned lot of basic things about several Ragas, few devotional songs and have learned to use the harmonium that was just sitting in a box for years!
Yes, I needed a teacher, a patient and determined teacher who just loves to teach for the joy of it and I found such a teacher in Chhaya Kulkarni. She makes sure that I do not give up till I get it 'right', is always very encouraging. She has been very accommodating so we rarely miss a lesson though we both travel and handle family responsibilities too. Her prompt e-mails prove how much she values student's time also. I am grateful for this opportunity to pursue my dream. Not only did I get some basic training and have deeper appreciation for the hard work and devotion behind the success of famous musicians but I got to know a wonderful teacher like Chhaya Kulkarni.
